Project Overview

The objective for this project was to create a new, ethically-sourced, organic craft chocolate brand. I was tasked with establishing the brand's name and complete visual language in a research-driven design process. The brand was to be applied to three chocolate bar packages. These packages were to differ from each other, while maintaining a brand system. The challenge was to be able to differentiate them while simultaneously making them feel unified under the core brand identity. Welcome to Coastal Cocoa.

Initial Sketches

Typography

The typography in this project consists of two fonts, Duckie & Archer Pro. I incorporated varying sizes and weight for the body copy, using Archer Pro. Only for the logotype was Duckie implemented.

First Iterations

Color Exploration

To express the vibrant, and joyful aesthetic of the brand, the color exploration followed suit, exuding loud and tropical colors.

Final Box Design

Each of the final flavors was carefully selected to represent the name and style of each bar. Each bar is named after the place in the U.S. where that flavor is most frequently grown/produced.
