Graphic Design Manifesto

Graphic Design Manifesto 〰️

The objective of this project was to communicate my values, ideas and words within the scope of graphic design.

This project offers a chance to reflect on and synthesize my ideas and values into a place that can be revisited or simply use as a pillar of strength in my life.

Preliminary Sketches

I knew from the start I wanted to work in an analog format, and something large. The driving factor for format decisions was that it was going to be about 2 feet by 2 feet.

Typography

Avenir - Heavy Oblique

Avenir - Medium

The typography in this project consists of one font, Avenir.

Final Design

The main idea I wanted to push was the value of inspiration, perspective, and creation. Push the bounds of what design means to me, and how it can be expressed. Analog design is not a style I venture often, which in an ironic way, made it the perfect way to work for this project.

When I first started drafting my thoughts for this work, it all sort of spilled out onto the page in one large essay. As I kept coming back to the content, I tried to organize my thoughts into a few main points, as to be sectioned out on the canvas.

The whole idea is that the viewer may come at this piece anywhere they see fit, and still be able to gather all the information, having their eyes dance across the layout.
